Gameplay: You fly a plane as one of six characters, or "cadets". Each has their own unique story but none seem to have specific skills which affect gameplay. However, there are three different planes you can choose to fly with stats such as speed, agility and weight, which will affect gameplay. Four different game modes exist:
Free Flight: Fly wherever you want. There is no objective in this game mode.
Ring Run: Fly through as many rings as possible before time runs out.
Balloon Burst: Use your plane to pop as many balloons as you can before time runs out.
Coin Collect: Bump into as many flying coins as you can before time runs out.
You'll also be able to choose from six levels, or areas where you can play each game mode. High scores are kept for each game mode and level under the records menu on the home screen.
Controls: There are three different sets of controls:
Type A: Control system which uses virtual buttons for right, left, climb, and dive.
Type B: Control system which uses virtual buttons for climb and dive but takes advantage of the accelerometer for left and right.
Type C: Control system which uses the accelerometer for right, left, climb, and dive.
Type A seems to be the smoothest to use but I often end up playing with Type B, which is the default.
Graphics: Colorful, 3D graphics (don't let the anime on the app art fool you).
Music/Sound: There isn't any music in this app (your music can not play in the background either), and the sound effects can get annoying, especially the loud humming of the plane's propeller.
Bottom Line: This is a great flight simulator app to pick up and play because of the plentiful game modes and places to fly.
